Our pastor preached the last two Sundays on the 23rd Psalm. One of the points he made impressed me. He asked, what would life be like in the opposite of the Psalm.

The Lord is NOT my shepherd, I shall be in want
I won't lie down in green pastures
My soul will NOT be restored
I will not have straight paths
When I walk through the valley of deep darkness I WILL fear evil, for I am alone
I will have no comfort in that fear
I will not have peace amid my enemies
I will not be refreshed
I will be left wanting
And I shall dwell outside God's kingdom forever

That is life without the Shepherd.

Do you have the Shepherd?

Yes, I do!

Thanks for posting this. It provides a lot of reasons to be thankful.

Wayne,

Excellent post. At my last church service I preached on the 27th Psalm. For all my life so far, the 27th spoke for me.
Be well.

Good post, sadly many are living opposite of the Psalm.
