Hi new guy with an old rifle. Best estimate is the rifle was built circa 1910-1920 and chambered for 8x48R Sauer. I am looking for a load for the 8,15x46R using Vihtavouri N130. I have data for N135 but I am reluctant to buy a Kg of powder I have no other use for. I already have the N130 for use in 45-70. The case capacity of the 8x48 and the 8,15x46 are very close so I am thinking I can extrapolate the data using case water-weight comparison. I have tried N140 but it seems a bit too slow and I get blackened cases....

With the 140, have you annealed the necks???

Gordon's Reloading Tool (GRT) lists loads for the 8.15x46R using N130. You didn't indicate what bullet you're going to be using. To get you load data you'll need to say which bullets you're going to be using.
