I see J&G has some Turk surplus ammo for sale again. They want 25 cents a round for it! What was it, 10 years ago or so it was 5 cents a round? I've still got maybe 2,000 or so rounds of it left. Seems "real" brass and lead increase in value faster than gold! At those prices it kind of takes the "plink" out of plinking.........

Seems like I got it for 3 cents a round in about 2004. Then it suddenly went up, got hard to find and disappeared.

8mm used to be so easy to get it wasn't worth trying to make ammo for guns, things sure have changed. Larry is right, better return than the stock market any day.

Back then I bought a M48 Yugo 8mm along with 4500 Turk and Equadoran bx57 ammo. I figured I could shoot the ammo and throw the rifle away and it would have cost me 8.5 cents a shot. I still have most of the Equadoran and about 2000 or the Turk left along with the rifle....and no, I'm not going to 'throw it away";-)

I bought a bunch of Turk 8mm for around 3 cents a round, in bandalers on stripper clips. Seemed to be loaded pretty hot. Pulled the bullets and saved the powder to load some 308 loads. Gave the brass to the Boy Scouts. Bullets were surprisingly close for weight. I randomly weighed 100 out of 2500 and they were all about .3 grains of each other.
