Ran across the article on the Internet last week. Found to be an engrossing read.

Interesting to see the difference between small arms smokeless and artillery compositions.

A couple there would be interesting to try for small arms as they are simpler to make and source on an ongoing basis. I knew they were used, but not in such a great percentage of the powder.
