I am out of H110 and have an abundance of Power Pistol powder. I have 300g and 255g hard cast bullets I am loading. Doesn't seem to be any data for loading either weight. Maybe not a good idea to use power pistol? Thoughts?

Thanks

Joe

You could probably use .45 Colt data for your Casull. I'd not try for full house Casull loads tho

Look for AA9, 300 MP or something slower than 2400. If you want a plinking load consider that PP is very closer to Unique, IIRC.

Alliant has Power Pistol for .454 in their 2021 reloading manual but not for your selected bullet weights. So, you can do 454 with that powder but may need other bullets.

Alliant shows a max load of 11 grains of Power Pistol with a 270 grain bullet. I'm not sure why they stopped at 11 grains, but it could certainly be for reasons other than chamber pressure.

In my experience Alliant is very responsive over email, so I'd suggest emailing them.

As was already mentioned, you could start with Unique data. Between that and an email to Alliant, I expect you'll be able to come up with some good starting data.
