Anyone reload for 50BMG????
Want to neck size only?????
I was going through some stuff, looking for thing to try a sell at the gunshow next month. I found a bunch of 50BMG shells and heads I had gotten long ago.
I figured why not make key rings out of them for the gunshow.
Problem started when I placed a head in one of the shells. About a 1/8" to big for the head. :(Talk about a big chamber.
Anyway I now needed to resize the shell to at least hold the head on. :confused:
50BMG dies set is about $100. No way was I going to spend that just to make key rings.
Started to check to see if some other die might work to just neck size the shells.
Lee 8MM Lebel seater die worked great:drinks:
First I removed the bullet seater so I could use a metal rod to knock the shell out of the die. No shell holder, so this looked like the cheapest way to go.
Lubed it up the neck with Imperial sizing wax.
Went half way down the neck.
Knock the shell out with the rod.
Lube the shell again.
Finish sizing the rest of the neck.
Worked great:-D
