I have a double auto with identical 30" barrels, I got the idea of putting one of the old adjustable chokes on the end (the older ones). I scored an adjustomatic and was wondering if anybody has any experience with them, est instructions for installation or use.

What do you think the best barrel length is for the adjustable choke, I was thinking 28" or maybe 27" and the choke is 1" - I have the other 30" full for the DA too.

I’m thinking it’s a Browning Double Auto?
Is the adjustomatic the one that tightens choke as you shoot it? Set on IC, three shots later it’s a full choke?

Never heard of an auto choke. Always learn from this site.

Wait, what ? :-)

My best use of it would probably be as an excuse for missing; 'I had the wrong choke for all three shots'. ;-)

The theory was to set it on one choke then it would advance one time on the next shot, so Modified would click down to Improved Modified. I don’t think it was very popular; I have read about them but never seen one in person.
