Lapper Center punch

For those that have a hard time drilling boolits on center for lappers, this $4.99 wonder can be found in most hardware stores. Simply hold it in the sprue plate hole and give it a light tap with a hammer.

I don't mean to rain on your parade, but the sprue holes aren't always centered.

Bret, you're right, if they are far off then it's back to the Vee on the combination square and a scribe.

Most of the time the sprue plate can be filed a few strokes and bring them very close to center. I Leemented five six cavity Lees today and only had two that needed a touchup for this. On the rare occasion the holes are off along the axis of the mold faces you are helpless.
