I started casting because of 45acp. New Springfield GI set the bullet back on the first round from the mag. Loaded a H&G 200 gr semiwadcutter with a little crimp into the front driving band. Cycled and shot perfect. The casting thing was on from there. Only factory ammo I shoot now is 22lr. I can't make it better than store bought. Have fun!

Welcome. What kind or kinds of 45s do you shoot or cast for? Cast, 200 or 230s? I mostly shoot 25-2 Smiths and 1911s of various makes. My avitar is my son's retirement set, a Ruger 1911, highly modified in my shop.

Odd coincidence, I served with Aussies, then 50 years later my son served with members of the Aussie SAS in the desert in Iraq. We both shot IPSC, so when the son arrived for his check out, the "instructor" asked, So mate, you are an IPSC shooter? I can tell by the way you move and shoot, Yes I am Sargent, Son then asked, so who taught you to soot. Sargent said, It was Robbie Latham, he came and taught a SAS class in defensive shooting. Now that is a crazy world.
I had told the son about the Aussies in Vietnam, he remembered the stories and related meeting the Aussies in Iraq when he went to find some folks.

Welcome from a displaced coona**!
These good folks have helped me replace a bunch of boolit molds lost in a hurricane and I have gotten great deals on guns and reloading equipment!
Learned to powder coat too!

Welcome. This forum has been amazing. Look around, ask questions, and find the jewels in the reloading world (they are here). When I joined I thought I knew a little and as I read and contributed and asked questions I learned. I do not believe I have ever been given bad advice or met a rude member. This is a great place.
