I lucked into a dandy 1935-vintage Colt Officer's Model .22. (It came with a Colt factory letter confirming date, consignee, and initial purchaser.) Rounds out my trifecta of 1930's OM's, .38, .32, .and .22. Fired it on Saturday, and oh my lord it shoots like a young rifle!

(The .38 is a ceracoated gun, on hand as a knockabout shooter and placeholder until the "right" one comes along.)

So just where is the drool button again?

I have an Officer's Model Match in .38, and would dearly love to get the .32 and .22 versions.

I would dearly love to find a 32 OM to fill in the blank, but I really like my 2, the 22 was worked over at sometime and no longer shoots double action, but the single action is superb. The 38 works just fine. Back in the 30s, guns like these swept the nationals several times. They are still outstandingly accurate. My 38 is a 1920's gun while, the 22 dates from 1941.

But the scoundrel who painted your placeholder 38 ought to be soundly abused.

Yeah he should be, but on the other hand I got it for next to nothing, timing/lockup is perfect, and accuracy is superb. In other words, a darn good shooter.

Your version is in better condition than mine, but I sure do love mine. I have a couple of the 38 official police match's, but I shoot this 22 the most.
