Any Kibler fans out there?

My son just recently finished a Colonial in .50 caliber. The lock time on these rifles is crazy fast.

I love the Kiblers.
I am just waiting to see if they ever decide to make a Hawken Full Stock Flintlock model.
Nothing wrong with the models they already make.
But I just have always been into the Hawken model rifles.

Yeah, I want a Hawkin as well. My son’s contemplating Fowler which is supposedly the next one out. Our next project will be to rework our original build, a Traditions Kentucky Long Rifle. Gonna refinish everything and upgrade the lock.

I bought a Woodsrunner in .54. Put together by someone else. Haven’t shot it yet but it is lite! Waiting for better shooting weather.
I’ve heard they are easier to put together than other kits. Don’t know if I have the time to try to put one together. Kibler makes it look easy in his videos. Too many other projects at the moment.

They are easy. And I hear there’s even less to do now with Mr Kibler’s latest CNC upgrade. They are such fine rifles.

I love everything about the Kibler rifles. The only model I would want is the SMR. I just don’t want a barrel that long. I cant bring myself to buy one because of the barrel length. 38”-40” I’d be in. I have an SMR I built with 36” green mountain barrel, I love it, but its length is do-able. I think Kiblers guns are exceptionally beautiful and well thought out.

How do they shoot?

From all the Kiblers that I have seen being shot at the range.
The accuracy and functions were great.
Since those kits are not super cheap , I know that all the owners are very experienced shooters.
But I have never heard any of them complain about any problems with the rifles.

For those waiting for a Hawken, you may be surprised at what you end up with if he makes it copying an original. They come in at 11 pounds. Not fun for hunting on foot. They are a horse rifle.
I told my brothers I would build them rifles for cost of parts. My younger brother wanted a Hawken, and I refused to build it, and explained the weight issue.
So, he had another guy build one for him, and now he regrets it.

I agree about the weight of the original designed Hawkens.
But lucky enough , I do not hunt as much as I use to.
So going to the range isn't as much of an issue.

I really like my Colonial .58 smooth bore. The quality is outstanding.

Yes, Have a Colonial and Woodsrunner. SMR Kit is on the way .45cal. I think Kiblers are the best of the Kits. Simple and easy to assemble and shoot. Excellent reproductions.

I put a Colonial together and it required just enough effort on my part to feel I contributed, and it shoots fast and accurate!

I'm in the wood finishing phase of a Colonial 58 cal smoothbore. Had the barrel jug choked for a little better shot patterns. I agree with just enough work in my kit to feel like I helped build it. Mine was not a snap together project.
