I've got a Lee 158gr SWCGC mold. Nice bullets! Both for my 35 remington and 357 mag.

However, and I know there may not be an exact fit, I'm having some trouble with a top punch. I have a 429 but that still scrapes the sides of the bullet and leaves a ring. Anyone have any suggestions? Maybe a full WC top punch, as it is a very slightly 'semi' design with a real fat nose.

I believe it is a Lyman 429. The same one for the Lyman #358429.

Try this link.

http://www.castpics.net/

Click on the top punch reference tab on the left, then select Lee
Very useful info there.

I too have had the trouble you mention. Even had it with an RCBS top punch made specificly for my mold. I have had to modify several of my top punches for a good fit. You could also make a flat top punch and try that. I have heard of several people using this on all their SWC bullets.

Yeah, the reference is saying 429, and that's what I have that is marring the bullets. Thanks for the link though, that's a good one!

I may just make a flat top punch out of a nail or something. Or worst comes to worst fill in a top punch I don't really need with JB weld and sand smooth.

They make a top punch that is completely flat that should work. I don't know the number off hand but it works on a lot of flat point bullets making it a good one to have.
