Winchester unveils new 94/22 at Shotshow.

Saw a blurb on how nice they were at shotshow, good looking rifle with a cnc machined alum reciever, walnut stocks, blue metal, great looking gun overall. I got on the Win. website, and got the shock of my life on price, $419 MSRP, way lower than I thought it would be, they will sell a boat load of them.

I'm kinda over lever actions, but that does look interesting, especially at that price point.

Early ones will probably sell at a premium.

I've had stuff on order from Impact Guns since before 9/11. Anymore the only way I will order from them is calling them to check stock. They may have gotten better since the last time I placed an order? At the old location they had an M-14 for rent. I did put 200 rounds thru it.

I’m inclined to believe that it’s assembled and finished here from parts made in Turkey.

Good points. But if it shoots as good as it looks, where the parts are manufactured will not matter to many.

I sold all my lever action .22's last year as I do not plink with .22LR much anymore. But this little gun is calling me, and I have about 20k rounds of .22LR sitting around. Looking forward to one of the forum members getting one and posting a review. I don't trust gun rags to be honest.

They are now like Browning- guns made all over the globe - but stamped Browning.
FN owns Browning, too.

It apparently breaks down for easy cleaning from the chamber end, a popular feature of the 9422. Got that from the website.

100%. I sold mine last year for more than three times what I paid for it.

Almost all .22 autoloaders use aluminum receivers. I remember reading that one of the well known CAS shooters had something like 20k documented rounds through his Henry H001 with no problems. AR's use aluminum uppers with more parts moving back and forth with alot more force than what any .22 would experience.

The Winchester model 250 lever action had an aluminum receiver and was known to suffer wear. Because the locking abutment was too shallow - in my opinion.

I've got a Winchester 250 lever. It's got quite a few thousand rounds down that action and it has zero trouble with anything. Maybe it's mine, maybe you got a bad one. Granted it's a way more complicated design than it needs to be.
