I have an Uberti Cimarron in .44 Special and couldn't resist the temptation to set up for .44 Russian after seeing Starline brass in stock at both Graf's and Midway. Even ordered the Lee 429-240 2R to have a traditional bullet profile to work with, even though I usually avoid round-nose designs. I had an Open Top copy some years back in .44 Russian and found it extremely pleasant to shoot, and accurate as well. Anyone else out there running this fine old round?

Anyone else out there running this fine old round?

I ordered a few hundred Starline cases for my Uberti Open Top as well. So far I have had the best results using Green Dot powder. This is not a pip squeek round!

I still have the C-H .44 Russian dies but alas, no revolver.

Interesting,I have a Rossi 92 44 special/44 magnum 16 inch barrel carbine and it functions fine with both of those cartridges and it would be nice to be able to use the 44 russian as well but from what I have read on youtube it is not possible and will lock the carbine up that needs to be dissasembled to remedy.

Anyone know of a Modification that can be done easily that would allow me to still use the 44 special ?

I am currently using HSM Factory loaded 44 special 240 grain semi-wadcutter as a source of brass after I shoot them and I also have some of Matts Bullets that are his 250 grain RNFP that function fine with some dummy rounds I put together.
