I recently bought an 1895 Winchester in 405 caliber.I know the ammunition is scarce but I'm getting on in years and I have always wanted one so I saw one that was available and purchased it.If there is anyone out there that has brass, ammunition, sources,or anything that might help I would really appreciate it.Thanks vietvet69

There's quite a bit available on the GB web sight..... You'd better brace yourself.

No kidding! $3 to 5 dollars each! Maybe get 10 or 20 and have yourself a ball.

Not a lot of brass available for that one! I have a box of empties waiting for me to reload them. Also have two boxes of factory and two boxes of my reloads (28 grains of 5744 under the Lyman 412263 boolit.) Probably more than I will shoot before I die!

A friend has one of those, and loads it to 40-82 levels with cast bullets. He is used to recoil and his gun has a very well thought out stock. But all the available power is not necessary. 20 good cases will probably do you for quite a while.

Welcome to the forum, you probably want to ask that this get moved to the swapping and selling section. And review the terms for using the swap and sell section.

That said I had some 405 Winchester brass that I converted. I believe they can be converted back to make usable 405 Winchester.

They were listed here:

Good luck in your hunt for the brass. It took me awhile to find the 405 Winchester so I could make the.375-2-1/2 brass. The buddy who's rifle I made it for died last summer, so I have no need for it anymore.

Welcome to the forum from Baton Rouge, Louisiana !

Get a few post under your belt and then you can post your needs in the Want To Buy section ... if we can't help you ... nobody can .

I wish I had 405 brass but that is one round that has eluded my attention all these years but I know other members have experience.

Welcome Aboard ... first round's on me :drinks:
