How available is 300 Short Mag brass once fired?
I found new, but loaded ammunition is just a little more.
My boss has one and I like the ballistics but I don’t plan to get one, I just don’t remember seeing any advertised in the S&S forum.”

It's not super rare and does show up periodically in the S&S.

I wouldn’t let( and I love mine) brass availability keep you away from a great cartridge.

You'd be amazed what you can find with a want ad. Brother in law won a 240 Weatherby Mag at a banquet and asked me to start reloading for it. Posted a WTB for brass and dies, had everything I needed for a few hundred rounds on my doorstep within 2 weeks.

Think it's still be made by Hornady, Norma and Nosler. 300 RSAUM brass seems to be a little more rare.

Some for sale in S and S.

That is regular 300 Win Mag , not 300 Win SHORT Mag!
They are a little different!

Yes, they are different. My mistake, sorry.

Orphan cartridges are just that.
There for a while I bought 6.8 SPC brass whenever I found it. Now I have plenty.
The Short Mags were an answer to a question no one asked- not to mention the Super Short Magnums- Remington’s SAUM also. A buddy in Colorado has been looking for 7mm RSAUM for his rifle for 3years with no luck.
If you find .270 or7mm WSM brass- grab it and neck it up- right after you do that, someone will GIVE you some .300WSM!
Good luck in your search!

If I owned a short mag I would be on the hunt for brass until I had 500 pieces minimum.

When I bought my Featherweight M70 back when the cartridge was first introduced I did buy 500 pieces of brass for it. Like a lot of my guns it has never seen a factory loaded round down the barrel.
