Can anyone recommend a gunsmith to mod a 1903 for mounting the 8x Malcolm scope? I hear the CMP is backlogged.

Check the milsurp forum.

Potentially dumb question, but you mean the "milsurps" site?

I would look no further than Chuck Moline. "Chuck in Denver." Warpath Vintage LLC. The number I have for him is 720 841 1399. The best in the business, specializes in M1903's, has probably built as many USMC Sniper '03's as anybody and is critically renowned amongst M1903 fanboys. He's done a couple rifles for me and his rates are very reasonable.
