Curious if anyone has ever tried the 25 caliber 100gr hollowpoint bullet that Hunters-Supply Cast Bullet offers? Thinking it would be a good one to try in my 25-45 rifle, currently shooting the 80gr Lee group buy boolit and Lyman 257420 with good results but been curious about a heavier option. Was looking around at the various mold offerings and nobody seems to have a 25 caliber 100-115gr hollowpoint available right now and this bullet popped up on my search's.

Thanks,
JW

I finally ordered a box of the Hunter-Supply cast bullets to try, over all was disappointed. Easily 25% are very poor condition with deformed bases and bands, they are a gas check style bullet and i was hoping to be able to crimp my own gas checks onto the bases but the GC shank is so undersized that the checks won't crimp on at all. With all that said if i sort through and select the decent ones they do seem to group Ok out of my bolt action 25/45 Sharps. Been shooting them with 15grains of H335 and they will group under an inch at 60 yards, not match grade but good enough for plinking and woods walking.

I am surprised at that. Something must have changed at Hunter Supply, the .30 caliber bullets I have gotten from them are superb. Maybe they will replace them for you?

I didn't even bother to reach out, there are a lot of mixed reviews online for their bullets so i went into it knowing I might be disappointed. I will say that what ever their lube/coating is works very well, can't tell if it is a Hitech style casting and then dusted with mica perhaps but bore stays very clean with it. Dumped the worse of them back into the melting pot and carried on. I need to round up some wet newspaper and do a bit of expansion testing and see how they do. Been loading these alongside some NOE 260-105gr FP which shoot very well in the 25/45 with the same 15gr load of H335.
