Found a box of these in my garage. They’re 147 gr sized to .357.
Y’all know what these are?

That is a button nose wadcutter. I used to shoot lots of those with the hitek coat. They shot accurately for me with 2 grains of 231.

It's one of several common wadcutter designs, others being double ended, and no cap at all. They should perform well for you. Shoot 'em up!

Greetings,
The long button nose suggests it was cast in a Magma mould.
Okay for revolvers; but, the nose is too long for bottom feeders.
Cheers,

Looks like a 358495 Lyman if it has a flat base. Lyman 358091 has a small bevel base. H&G 50 and about 4 others look similar. I use an H&G mold for that design--my favorite. I have a Star Lube sizer set up for that boolit. You can turn it around and seat flush or in a crimp groove and it still shoots good. I can shoot it in two of my 38 special Clark autos using 3.1 of bullseye. Depends on what you shoot out of=2.5--3.8 of bullseye is accurate. This boolit isn't real picky on different powders.

I have had two 358495 wadcutter molds and neither has a nose that long. Never say never with Lyman cherries but that is my two cents.
It appears to be a Magma 38-148 WC, most likely from a commercial caster using Magma equipment.

It does look an awful lot like a Lyman 358091.

I just powder coated 500 358091s today. The pic above isn't a 358091, I promise:D

Agreed. Close though.

Look at the different locations for the crimping groove. The base is different as well.

I screen shot these pictures from the brazos bullets web site. These are the bullets i used to buy from them before i figured out casting lead. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20240107/387cee134d569ba5b44672e26da7344d.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20240107/5eda6fddeb45ba271d0f2999abb123de.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20240107/79a88df9b4b67cbabb542ad5f6e0b4cf.jpg

The first thing I thought was the Lee wadcutter bullet. I used three, 2 cavity molds to cast thousands of them. That was nearly forty years back. I have not seen one in ages.
