Can anyone tell me or give a review of Larry Blackmon's dies? Specs of the dies and presses, are they good? I'm curious to know what people have to say about it.

I tried several times over several years to purchase new swaging equipment from Blackmon, and was never able to do so. His gear got good reviews, but was essentially unobtainable in the time frame of my interest (which continues to the present).

I have his press and .224 dies. Performed very well untill I bent the nose forming ejector on a stuck bullet.

I have 2 sets and they work well!
If you have a Rockchucker press he will sell you a replacement ram and loan you a jig to drill a hole for the ejector pin, much cheaper than a swaging press.
He is retired now from being a eye doctor so the wait time may be less.
Prices are fair.

Curious, does he do custom work? Like say make dies to fit other swaging presses? What about his dies? Is it like the Corbin's S dies?

His ram is the same 5/8-24 thread but his dies are closer to the Corbin M dies dimension wise as they need to retract into the press frame during ejection and the 1" dies are too big diameter wise and won't allow that.

When I spoke to him years, he would not make other press dies.

I believe his dies and Corbin M dies are able to be used in the Corbin S press.(I use M dies in my S Press just fine) I believe the point form ejection pin needs to be modified on the Blackmon die though, but everything else works from what I heard.

Thanks for the info. I do have the adapter for the M and S dies to fit in the Walnut Hill press. I do have I believe M dies, they measured 3/4 inch diameter on the die body?

Correct, M dies have a 3/4" die body.

I spoke with Blackmon this week. He is taking orders and has at present a 6 month wait time.

If anybody does buy their press or dies from Larry Blackmon, please do a review. I love to see it, it's funny that no one does any review on bullet swaging dies ore presses yet on youtube! Maybe someone could "rack" some views on youtube?

I have 2 of his press's and .224 dies for the 40 gr Hornet and 50 - 60 bullets.
Made LOTS of 52 gr bullets with RF jackets, even some 60 gr using older Sierra jackets.
Shoot very well out of several rifle

Picked up a .257 set, but have not used it yet

Have a .308 x 7 S set that have played with, those bullets have shot well with what little I have loaded up
