Never. Wifey has a camp in Hallton, Elk countyand I'm pretty sure the neighbors around there would have told us. If there was such a thing.

Most moose in PA are hanging on a wall. But, moose in other states are often shot during Elk season, because they look so much like 'elk' to the neophytes!

There was a young Bull Moose spotted in Northern Iowa this summer. I'm not sure how he got there? but he started wondering North this fall, through all the corn fields of southern Minnesota. He even went through Glencoe. Some folks started a FB page tracking his movements with photo sightings and they gave him the name Rutt. It even made the national news, since it's such a rare thing for a moose to be in this area. He has now made it to northern Minnesota, into Moose country...which was a 250+ mile trek from Northern Iowa. Search FB "Rutt- the central MN Moose on the loose."

Oh yeah, many people theorize that the Moose might have been pushed out of Canada this spring/summer by the wildfire smoke.

I have seen it blamed on a brain parasite that makes them "get lost" and wander south... but those never go back north... wonder how close it was to me on the trip south? I am roughly north and a bit east of the starting point... maybe 100 miles...

Hi...
Spent a lot of time hunting deer and black bear plus hiking in Elk County. Pa.
Seen plenty of elk but never saw any moose.
I do not believe they exist in Pennsylvania.
Most of my time in Elk County was spent in the Mosquito Creek and Beaver Run area just east of St.Mary's and Benezette

There ain’t no moose in St. Marys. Somebody doesn’t know the difference between a moose and an elk

That's because Big Foot ate all the Moose's.

Pa. Isn’t near to any known moose populations. Where could it have come from?

The forest service will also tell you there are no mountain lions in pa either. Even though my brother and i saw one in Potter around 1998

When you visit Alaska you are all, "Look! a moose!"
When you live in Alaska it becomes "Look out! a moose!"
They won't get out of the road. If there is a moose loose in PA, it won't last long.

Moose are down in Nevada now having been pushed south from Idaho by wolves. A small bunch was even seen in the Winnemucca area.

who know if there are moose there but one thing I know for sure is wildlife has a way of not being found easily out in the woods especially if there is pressure from predators

Boise has resident Moose, but they are seldom seen, until they take up residence on your porch!

This reminds me of an old Maine joke.....What's the difference between a Maine woman and a moose

Ans: About 20 pounds and a flannel shirt...
