Im looking at a Meepos lube sizer and im wondering if their any good and what style sizing dies they use? It looks like a good lube press with a push thru design but I never heard of this brand before and if parts and dies are still available for it. Any comments would be appreciated. Thanks, Mike

Mike they work OK, but dies are not available. They use a unique to Meepos die.
I have some information in the files and an example, email me for more info.

The sizing dies are made from hex bolts. Not much to them.
The nose punches are also made from bolt shanks. Not much to them, either.

Use the forum search function. There's been talk of these before. They're a good solid press far as that goes. Well made. The only issue I can think of would be hard lube. I'd stick to Alox-Beeswax or some similar lube.

Meepos is a VERY old name, mentioned in Phil Sharpe's book which is copyrighted in the thirties/forties. Good quality tools, but as mentioned not designed for really stiff lubes and a glance at the construction shows why. Really heavy pressure could cause the iron casting to snap. The old Lyman sizers are also built rather light for such work.

These tools were built during the "dawn" of home reloading and were considered state of the art for their time. They're still capable of excellent work if you use common sense and you'll get a kick out of working with "classic" tools.

Just don't paint it RCBS green!

Thanks everyone and it looks like the dies can be made easily by someone with the setup to bore different diameters in it. Just a plain grade 8 bolt should work.:-D

I was given a meepos with a 358 die, it works well and I like the nose first push through design. Dies do come up here and there, I just purchased 7 more dies for mine on evilbay this past week and got them today.

Check with Lathesmith, he may be willing to make dies for that design.

I hear he is off the board for a while, so leave a PM and be patient. His work
on Star dies is superb and prices are very reasonable.
