Proud BF moment here. The lady been asking for a new scope for her .22lr. well found one ,got a new mount ect and had it sent to her place, well she she loved it but before I could say anything else she said " now show me how to put it on ". Which OK! She was talking about how nervous she was and how she didn't want to mess up at first then ten min later ,me barley touching anything she had it on adjusted perfectly for her and all I had to do was go back over and check the screws. Ask her how hard tat was and she said it was actually really easy , told her " you know a large majority of guys pay to hay people to that for them , the pawn shoppe charge $10-$20 for that"
She turned and looked at me like I was absolutely crazy and said " YOUR JOKING !"
Now just need to show her how to properly bore site and zero the thing her self. Don't know if she'll be able to bore site though because she's kinda blind lol ,but still proud as all get out

I love it!
Reminds me of the time a friend asked me to do the same thing. I handed rifle and mounts to my 12 year old daughter to carry inside.
My verbose buddy was winding up his second tale when my daughter returned with the scope mounted perfectly!
I told him no charge but he insisted on paying “hush money”……[emoji16]

I'm glad for her.....my whole L.E. career I worked around ladies that could do virtually anything vs. those that worked elsewhere.....it was so frustrating when I had to deal with those always helpless ones, males included here also! Looks like she did a great job and be glad she shares her time with you!

22lr AR’s are so much fun, and everyone should own one!

Interesting combination, pink camo, and Hello Kitty. Probably not my style, but the idea is to get her involved and keep her happy and shooting. Very good decision on your part. Might be a bit much if she decides she needs a sun shade and you get a set of long eyelashes for the scope though. On the other hand.......

Good for her. The "hello kitty " sticker makes it all work.

Nobody has all the skills to do everything in their lives. We all have to learn to do stuff.

That said,, often, a skill may seem intimidating,, to a person who has never done it,, until they try it. But it's always a good idea to have a teacher, a coach, or whatever to assist a person the first few times any new skill is tried.

It's GREAT that this lady was able to mount the scope herself. I love it.

People can do more than they think, if only given the opportunity to learn.

Better be careful. Before you know it, this self-reliance thing might get out of hand! Good for you! Good for her! Now spread the word - self-reliance is a good thing.

I had brought my LGS some cast 45's for some lead he donated to my cause. A guy walks in "Hey nice job casting those did you do them?" "No a lady I know did them"(he didn't want to ID me...) "No way a woman can cast bullets that good...

Hey you, I CAST THOSE!

He slunk out the door...

Good job. I'd wager that close to half of the shooting sports manufacturers workforce is female.

I HAVE to share: "A hundred years ago" (actually about sixty, give or take) I dated a young lady named Patsy. I had bought a brand new Winchester 9422 and she watched/assisted me as I put a 'scope on it. When all screws were just snugged I gave it to her to see if/how much in needed be moved to get a good eye relief, when she commented no usable image at a11! MY boo-boo -- bion I put the 'scope on backwards. When I told her I had to remove it and flip it around she got major league upset at me, voicing that she wanted no part of a firearm intended for suicide use.
1/ This really happened! and 2/ There were no dates with her after this....

Why do they like pink, coffee cups, cats and decorations?
Nice rifle and yes women can do a lot of things we want to do for them.

Good on you both. Life with a partner is much easier and enjoyable when you share common interests. My wife of 44 years gets her deer every year and we enjoy the time of field together.

I bet you are still on call to kill spiders that get in the house.

Seriously, It looks like you two have a good thing going.
