Any leather crafters out there?

I would like to know if there is any reason you can't use wood stain on leather?

Would probably depend on the stain. If an alcohol or acetone based stain then maybe, IF it did not have any particulates in it like some wood stains do in order to highlight the wood grain. I would suspect any petroleum based stain (basic carrier of mineral oil, linseed or tung oil or the like) I'd say no. Any stain that would harden would be a no go.

If it was a stain that was more of an ink and didn't have any solids in it that had to be stirred up,
it'd probably do OK.
