This is NOT a for sale ad. PM's in regards to selling any of these items will be ignored.

I am having trouble finding a value for some of this stuff, especially the Lee Ranch Dog TLC311-165-RF. I need to get a value on this whole lot for personal reasons.

Dies are Redding .30-30WIN with a Lee FCD set up. Two of the Hornady gas check boxes are factory sealed less than 100 missing from the open one. Three partial boxes of Sierra ProHunter 150 grain part number 2000 approx 250 bullets, sealed bix of Sierra Power Jacket part number 2010 170 grain bullets, 80 mixed headdstamp brass ready to load, 20 Federal (matching) brass ready to load, 15 nickel previously enjoyed brass, a handful of lubed and GC'd cast bullets of unknown origin, previously mentioned mold I got used, couple dozen PC and GC cast by me bullets from the RD mold, and 75 rounds of PPU .30-30WIN 170 grain FSP.

Please post recent real world experience on buying or selling any of this and/or opinions on value as a lot or per piece.

I use GB for a reference for prices for the commercial stuff.

Almost everything you have there except for the RD mold is currently available as new retail. Go to Midway or elsewhere to look up their new replacement values. It is not legal for you to sell your own cast bullets commercially according to BATF guidelines, so I'd value them at zero, they won't have the value of commercially cast bullets. The cases are used and mismatched, try the auction sites for that, it's not a lot. I think Grafs handles PPU ammo, so you could check their site for that. If you check auctions for values, be sure to check only closed auctions for your values, anything that hasn't already been sold is just an asking price, and those sellers may never sell them at the prices they're asking. Redding has many different lines of reloading dies, make sure you price the exact set you have there. The RD mold is desirable to some people, and others will be indifferent to it. Condition is everything.

I've sold and purchased a fair amount of used "stuff" online. For certain it varies by market, and availability, what one would expect to realize for prices (think basic economics: supply vs. demand), but my general experience is this w/ reloading related items:

Tools: I buy & sell at 50-75% popular site retail, and condition matters A LOT. I may low ball 50% even.

Jacketed bullets: They go all day for about 80%, but not if less than ~ 60% box. Expect discount after that - just think about shipping contribution to overall cost. Why would I buy 20 bullets and pay shipping, unless it came with something else, and wiped out shipping? Why would I want to buy another box after simply getting my speed vs. charge data?

Cast bullets: "20:1" is ABSOLUTELY correct in that it is Illegal to Sell cast bullets, which you have manufactured, for non obsolete cartridges. A quick check of BATFE rules can set you aright as to where the acceptable boundaries are. These rules are searchable on the web.

Ammunition: I don't Sell, and haven't Bought, but I have monitored many hundreds of auctions. Really depends on what you have. Search GB for similar SOLD items, and get a handle on your particulars.

Everything has its caveat of course, and the closer you price an item versus the limit, the longer it sits. I had some things sit for a year on GB when relists were free. There are several aspects to this too.

I let this die because I did not really get any usable answers. Anyone can search completed items on GunBroker and eBay (which I did). I was not trying to sell my cast bullets which was stated in the first post. I was looking for real-world sold values of any of the items from someone that had bought or sold any of it to get an approximate value for the entire lot. The lot contains cast bullets. Post started with the caveat that none of it was for sale. New replacement values mean nearly nothing in this instance. Turnip helped with some percentages he uses but I figured someone had bought or sold any one item in the lot.

$100 for the lot. It’s all the detritus at an estate or garage sale, the stuff that has no particular appeal and sells for penny’s on the dollar at the end of the day.

If you break it up and go to the trouble to post individual items you might do better online where there is a broad market.

Lee Ranch Dog TLC311-165-RF (6 cav):
they go for $50, depending on condition and completeness.

Some other minty RD molds go for $100 or so, if there isn't an equivalent being made now. NOE, Accurate, Arsenal, and probably MP make a clone of that one, so value of 30 cal 165gr is gonna be closer to $50.

Dies, gas checks, commercial bullets you could sell but the mold and cast boolits are going to be hard unless it's a site like this. If I were at an estate sale/auction and wanted that mold along with the rest I agree with JimB.. I'd bid $100 and no more as random cast boolits I have bought unless commercial cast like Missouri in the original packaging all get melted as I really have no idea what they are.

I've talked to a number of people at estate sales where reloading gear including melters and molds were on the block. I don't think I met another one that actually cast, they were all buying to ebay it hopefully for a profit so I'd just check there and see what you could get.

The mould will bring $50 if not abused.

The PPU ammo, $15 a box local.

Dies about $40

Brass, about $25

No idea on the bullets.

I'd guess $175 for the lot.

Those prices are reasonable if selling individually. Offloading the entire lot to someone and realizing those prices probably isn't going to happen unless you get real lucky.

If someone wants an accurate value of the dies, the mold, the gas checks, etc. they need to provide good pictures. Values of stuff like this can easily vary by 100% with a few good pictures, knowing what you have, and writing a good description with individual bullet points for each item. Being lazy and providing minimal pictures and wanting to sell the entire lot as one means they will get pennies on the dollar. I've seen boxes like this for sale at shops numerous times for $50 to $100. Sometimes they are full of junk and sometimes they are a gold mine. This lot has what appears to be some nice stuff but expecting more than $100 isn't reasonable.

Even if someone else bought or sold that item at a price it means nothing now. Some instances you could get more than new retail (like another pandemic thing). Other instances you may have to give it away for scrap.

FWIW, the $100 limit above would be my guess if sold today.

Pretty sure someone here would quickly buy just the 2900 Hornady checks for $75. They would probably even pay for shipping.

A discontinued ranch dog mold for $50 sounds cheap. But as others have mentioned condition is important.
