So I'm waiting to charge a battery pack which leads me to wonder if anyone else trims their brand new Starline 44 sp. brass.:veryconfu:popcorn:

no. Starline is very consistent quality, that said I have never trimmed straight wall brass. But I have only been hand loading since 1964. Sorry for the sarcasm, but I do shoot several thousand rounds of straight wall calibers a year and none of my brass has been trimmed. Shoot it til it splits then replace it. I do trim bottle neck brass, however.

I use lot of Starline brass and I always size, measure, and trim if needed when new. But, I don’t trim without sizing first. This may not be necessary, but it doesn’t hurt anything and does insure uniformity. For pistol brass it’s once and done, I don’t worry about it after initial sizing. But rifle brass of course is checked and adjusted routinely.

Hear hear. I skipped sizing but measured out 50 all at the same length and then found the shortest one, left over, and trimmed the other 50 to that length which was .007" less. Most were around .003 over the first big group. I say not all that precise.
