Last day of rifle season, took baby boy out after a deer he's been watching since the rut started. Found him against a slough grazing, he got in position and lined up - then got on his belly and crept up a bank a bit - got into position again. I didn't look at my watch, but he had to take 10 minutes in this position before firing.
He shot from 53 yards but said he couldn't get branches and grass out of his line of sight so held until he was clear.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20231126/5cbcf79753c98769fcc96eacfe1f4274.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20231126/3430b1673f4280f9bf602540246a476f.jpg

Well done!
I wouldn’t refer to him as baby boy anymore [emoji16]

A true hunter in his beginning years! Excellent.

Please tell that young man that as a longtime Hunter Safety instructor,, who got his Instructor cert. just to teach young men,,, my BSA Troop youth, I wish I could shake his hand. He's already living the ethical life all hunters should strive for.

Good story, great outcome. Good job Dad, he did not learn the skills all by himself.

Very nice buck. Any hunter would be proud to take an animal like that.
