Is there a list on the net somewhere that has all (or almost all) the rifle calibers and pistol calibers in order of size? Or where abouts could I find something like that..

-Edit- Edit this.. Not ALL calibers.. That would be too many to count. Just the most popular ones..

Take a look at RCBS, Lyman, Redding, Lee, etc. Pull their die list. Most of them already have them grouped by popularity, in a round-about way. The most popular dies are the cheaper ones! :)

The book, Cartridges of the World", would be my suggestion.

Too obvious, isn’t there something more obscure?

Another vote for "Cartridges of the World" by the late Frank Barnes here. It's in at least its 10th Edition by now, my most recent being the 8th. This was among my first gun books--given to me by one of my mentors (Leo Reyes) at Christmas when I was 12 years old (3rd Edition).

To me, it's a "must have" for anyone curious/interested in cartridge identification and nomenclature. EVERY ballistics and firearms forensic lab I've visited or worked in has at least one copy on hand.
