I was not sure where to post this, OSOK was a 22 benchrest shooter so I put it here.

As I write this I have tears in my heart, my best friend and brother in life has past away today 11/21/23. I talked to his wife this morning and she thought the time was very close and a few hours later she called to tell me of his passing. He lost his long fight with cancer, and is at rest now. For all of you that knew Charlie he was a determined man. He would never do things half way, it was full steam ahead or nothing. He was a great man and a great friend and had so much knowledge, I’ll miss his voice calling and all the projects we did together. We would talk for hours about benchrest 22's. He has been on this forum for awhile and many posts. He always had something to say, some good some bad but that was Charlie. I’m keeping this short, it is all to fresh in me right now and I need time.
This is for you Charlie you will never be forgotten!!!! Harry

I didn't know Charlie, I read his posts, but after reading your account of how he approached things, we have in common that thread of staying at something until either success is reached, or until I have to back up and cuss some more and then eventually success will be mine, and I also would rather slap a momma bear than declare defeat. That kind of drive to accomplishment earns a ton of respect in this camp. We would probably have gotten along well. Condolences to his family and friends.

That really is disappointing news. I do remember him posting that he was going to be away from the forum due to the cancer he had, and just in the last week or two I had wondered how he was getting on with that. Obviously, not well enough.

Not only did I enjoy his posts, but he gave good reasoned descriptions, answers and corrections.

Hopefully, he inspired more to do the same - a propagation of one's good works is a great reward.

So sad to hear. I had some very positive interactions with him a few years back when I was a bit more active here on the CB forum. My deepest condolences to his family and friends.

I read a lot of his posts. Long running posts working on accuracy projects. I am sorry to hear this. He was very creative with the things he built to test his ideas and freely shared with text and pictures. I think he said he was an electrician, retired. Damn cancer.

Sorry to hear of your loss of a dear friend. October the 2nd, I lost a best friend of 56 years. We shared a passion for shooting and casting, taught each other things about reloading and casting, etc. We weathered a lot through the years and his daughters grew up calling me their uncle. My friend had congestive heart failure and had been on the decline the past few years. Once we left high school, he was off to the Army, and I was off my way. We got back together at a reunion and picked back up where we'd parted. His course had him making a living 275 miles away, and that's where he lived and raised his family. You never realize how many times a week you are in contact with a friend like that, until they're gone. I've been feeling empty nearly 2 months now, but this to shall pass. My condolences to you and the family. Rest in peace Charlie.

Read every post of his from the 22lr tuning thread. Looks too young to be taken away.

Seems we are losing more and more of those here on the board. I just found this today so sorry for your loss. It reminded me of how much I miss my dad, mom, wife and cousin as long as we remember them and times we had together they are not really gone just waiting for us to join them one day again
