Rear site question

I recently came into possession of a EAA Witness in .45acp. It is missing the rear sight. I am not sure whether to put a fixed sight or an adjustable sight on it. Pro for adjustable is that they are adjustable and I am going to use it for carry. Con is that they are more expensive, tend to snag and are more complicated. Pro for fixed is that they are cheaper, less likely to snag, less complicated. Cons are that they stink to get sighted in.

Any thoughts?

My preference for the rear sight on a carry gun is fixed. They don't get damaged as easily.

Had that same gun, fixed sights worked quite well. Its fairly accurate to begin with.

I guess another route would be to add a mounting plate and put on an electronic sight.

Fixed for anything likely to get used in the Real World. If your first attempt doesn't get you hitting at the right elevation, Dawson Precision's website has a VERY handy sight height calculator that will help you sort out any discrepancy.

An adjustable sight may also require a taller front sight, or machining to set it lower in the slide.
