New mold for the Mosin

Just put in my order for the old garbage rod. It slugged out at .313 but have a feeling it will like something bigger. So I went ahead for some a few sized over and with the NOE sizing system I can size it down in .001 incriminates pretty easy .

When I slugged my Mosin it turned out that the 2 pairs of grooves were not the same size. One pair measured .312" , the opposite pair was .314".

You want something bigger than your groove diameter for several reasons, including that your throat is probably bigger than your groove diameter. Also, if you want good accuracy you want the nose of the bullet marked by the lands on chambering, as with a .22LR, so that the bullet is supported by the rifling on firing, and does not slump to the side, which will hurt accuracy.
