The H&G 258 feeds beautifully. I bought the mold and USPS destroyed it. Will buy another if anyone has one in good shape they want to sell. Might but the accurate 41-200k, I hear it’s a good copy.

I’ve tried the MP 413640 and 413265 and the large meplat hangs up on top of the chamber when loading. It’s also tough to get the 413265 into the magazine.

So, what are you casting for your Marlin 1894-41?

Go here to find out how to make your SWC's and WFN's feed properly. It ain't that hard to do.

I’d thought of that, but thought the chamfer would need to be unacceptably large. Looking at it, maybe not.

But even with your description I don’t have the tooling for the job. Need to think of a way to cut it.

I originally used a small Triangle File that had the teeth ground off about 3/4" of the pointed end. the resulting point was slightly curved, and I used it to scrape the the Sharp Edge off the Chamber Mouth.

The barrel metal is pretty soft and all you have to do is break the edge .015 or so. No need to go deep.

I then took a piece of dowel and attached a piece of 400 grit WOD sand paper to smooth it out. In fact you could probably do it all with just Sand Paper on a stick.

All this is doing is preventing the boolit from getting gouged by the sharp edge on the chamber mouth. Any amount of edge break will work. You'll note in the picture that the upper part of the chamber mouth has more relief than the lower part.

Hope this helps.

Thanks, hard to do much damage with sandpaper manually applied!

Lyman/Ideal 41028 works well in my 1894. Mine is a single cavity so it takes a while to cast a bunch but they sure are consistent and they feed smooth.
