I needed a new container of 2400 , so I got one out of the BACK of my powder closet

All the way in the back was a unopened 4 Lb Blue Dot and another 4 Lb container with over 3 lbs in it

I used to use it for 3" 1 5/8 oz lead reloads HIGH Velocity , HIGH Pressure using a CSD steel shot wad
These were insane loads to be ONLY used in a 3 1/2" 12 gauge 870 for REALLY LONG Range trap shooting games

I somewhere have load data for 223 , 30-30 , 308 and other rifle rounds I downloaded off the internet
Might have been on Steve's Pages 20 or so years ago

But I want to keep it simple
I have a bunch of the LEE 150 gr GC Flat nose bullets cast bullet I want to use up
I "Think" cast from WW's in about 1999 or 2000

CCI LR primers , PMC cases
What would a good powder charge for that bullet in the 308 Winchester at 1500 to 1600 FPS ?

I have a electronic auto powder measure
So I will be weighing out the powder

Thanks
John

https://stevespages.com/page8a.htm I dont see any Blue Dot data?

It has Nitroglycerin, double based. Not my choice cor down loading. There was a warning in some cartridges.
Blue DotŪ should NOT be used in the 357 Magnum load using the 125 grain projectile (Blue DotŪ recipes with heavier bullet weights as specified in Alliant Powders Reloading Guide are acceptable for use).
Blue DotŪ should NOT be used in the 41 Magnum cartridge (all bullet weights).

I would stick with the 2400. It has given me fine results with .308 and 30-30 cast loads. Just before all the nonsense started I scored 500 primed Lake City 7.62 cases from pulled down ammo and loaded it all up with cast boolits in 7.62. Great for off hand gong ringing out to 100 yds.

Try this again, posted this a couple of days ago, the info appears to have vanished into the either. Or the Biz Bag.

Here's a thread on nothing but Blue Dot loads:

https://castboolits.gunloads.com/showthread.php?338339-What-do-you-load-with-Blue-Dot

You can also do a web search for "seafire" Blue Dot loads. I believe he was/is @ 24 hour campfire.

He had a bunch of Blue Dot loads.

I believe that the Lyman #3 cast manual had some Blue Dot loads. And it's available for free download. Pretty sure that's where my 375 H&H cast load came from.

Good luck.

I checked Steve's Pages (https://stevespages.com/308_13_150.html) and found nothing for the 308 in Blue Dot powder for 150 gr. bullets.

Also checked Alliant Powder Reloader's Guide (https://www.alliantpowder.com/reloaders/Powder.aspx?powderid=10) online and found nothing for 308 in Blue Dot powder.

Also checked:
Lyman Reloading Manual #48 - nothing
Lyman Cast Bullet Reloading Manual #4 - nothing
Hodgdon Reloading (2015) (https://hodgdonreloading.com/data/rifle) - nothing
and
The Complete Reloading Manual for the .308 Winchester, found Red Dot and Green
Dot, but no Blue Dot.

Seafire has a "sort of" formula.
