Ballistic program for 22LR

What's a good ballistic program for use with a 22LR?
I've chronographed the rifle and will be shooting out to 400 yards. Just installed a 40MOA rail.

I agree. You can get the needed ballistics coefficient from some of the seller's or manufacturer's web sites.

Any of them, really. What is going to be more important is to determine the actual click value of your scope and if it tracks reliably.

400 is getting out there. I've shot 425, but that was with a vernier tang rear (target #5 at Quigley). My Anschutz 1917 has a 40 moa base and at 300 with std velocity it's up to 4.8 on a Vortex Viper 4-16. With Ely High-velocity only need 3.8

If you have the info for the ammo, Shooterscalculator.com is very helpful.
Punch in all your numbers and it gives MOA and MIL, drop, and windage

I use JBM and whatever app is in my Kestrel. As far as BC for 22lr SV rounds you can start with .130, should get you close. If you have your MV, zero at 50 then shoot at 200 and adjust the BC in the ballistic calculator till the drop matches your results on paper.

I found JBM way back then and have had a lot of fun with it. It has what seems to be an adequate 22 selection. I should print out a few predicted values and go put it to the test on the range. So far, the furthest I have shot with the 22 is 100m (110yds). I must say my little Voere surprised me with the groups I got using Eley Team. Eley Team is apparently, over-runs of TenEx - over-runs as in past the TenEx life of the dies.

But talking of long range (and here I'm thinking in terms of 110yds), wind drift seems to be quite an issue. And of course, JBM does calculations for that too. I've just never gotten into that. Yet.

We used to shoot 1/5th scale silhouettes off the bench out to 200M at our club. My CZ #4 can easily hold 1 MOA to 100M, but I have yet to find any ammo that would hold vertical close enough to stay on the ram at 200. Shooting out to 400 yards is going to be like shooting extreme long range matches like the King of 2 Miles with a centerfire, you can prepare all you want but when it comes down to it there is more luck involved than anything. BTW, unless your scope has an unnaturally large adjustment range 40 MOA of cant is not going to be nearly enough.

I can consistently hit a 7" steel disc at 300 yards so far . Wind flags really help. I haven't tried 400 yards yet.

There is a big difference between 300 and 400 using a 22LR. It's fun to do it though, no reason not to!

I use Steloc pro.
Works pretty well spot on with the factory b.c.’s
My problem is velocity having a short barrel but can adjust that.
Out to 325 yards /300 mtres is doable
I think 400 is a big leap.
I have gotten out to 350 yrds
If the conditions are steady then you have a chance.
They do blow around abit getting out there.
Do you have wind flags set to say 10m height to see what the bullet is seeing?
I don’t have the equipment or ammo for finer shooting, but with a body width target the ,bang………….ting
Is reward enough.
Good fun.
Better if you have a good spotter.
To help walk them in to the conditions.
