Just ordered a Lee pro 4 20 and the Lee 6 cavity .356 120tc mold with Bday pricing from Midway. I'm still going to melt and clean in cast iron over propane, but for casting duties I'm trying the Lee bottom pour.

The 4-20 works just fine. Low cost and works

I've found there are distinct advantages to giving yourself presents.

The main one is you get exactly what you wanted instead of something like a ugly sweater that doesn't even fit.

But then you never get a chance to win the ugly sweater contest:shock:

Or receiving a shirt for Christmas with one sleeve 4" longer than the other. And being told that I had to wear it, as-is, it was nonreturnable, the shirt had been bought at a discount mall with no returns.

My M-I-L really, really loved me[smilie=1:[smilie=1:[smilie=1:

Happy Birthday! I have had good luck with the 4-20 pots. If you keep the lead clean, it shouldn’t give you many problems. One thing that I do is to screw the nozzle down tight when I am done casting, while the lead is still hot. I think it helps with the dripping problem that many people have.

Happy birthday!!! Birthdays are a privilege denied to many -- enjoy yours! Vis my last (75 years old!) to celebrate three-quarters of a century living, I also used my MidwayUSA "birthday bucks" to buy meself (sic) a gift: I bought the Umarex Notos PCP .22 air rifle. Happy before; happier at Midways b-day pricing (I saved over $60.00 USD!) -- and still happier when I take the Notos to camp or range! I hope you will be as happy with your casting goodies!

Crap! I didn't even think about a PCP. Been wanting to try one. I can fill one off of the fire department air system.

I have a few things on my Midway Wish List, waiting on my birthday. I have a couple of months to wait! Hunting season is just around the corner!

Happy Birthday!!! I have the same pot (bought it years ago) and mold and they have given me great service for a long time. I hope you enjoy your BD gifts!

HB. Another Lee pot owner. Must have gotten lucky cause mine has never dripped.

I have yet to use it. Been stupid busy at work plus keeping up about 9 yards/lawns and youngest daughter'ssoccer season started. Every free day I seem to have someone is hollering wanting something done (family) and then gets their feelings hurt when I don't immediately drop everything and tend to their needs.

Finally got some time to run the lee pot today. Thanks dusty bannister for some tin to try. Lots of wrinkles starting the new mold out but if the driving Bada were good I kept them. Seem the pot struggled to get the temp much past 700. It was mid 40s and I was out side. Bottom pour is much easier than ladle for sure.

Me neither! I keep my alloy clean. Flux EVERY TIME that I add an ingot. I use either a paint stirrer or a carpenter's shim to stir the pot (Lee 4-20). I Flux with cedar bedding. Stir with the paint stirrer or the carpenter's shim. No leaks! Clean alloy it key!

I've got the Lee 6 hole 120 gr. mold. Works great mages a pile of pretty boolets in a hurry.
