Win 92, Lyman 3118 and long OAL of 1.65.

So I noticed some of my 32-20 brass is of the long length of 1.305-1.315 ( of which I trim to 1.305 with my lee trim gauge. My 50 Starline cases were 1.285. And I just loaded a batch of Winchester brass which was 1.28-1.285. I loaded a dummy cartridge to try through my new to me 1921 92 Winchester in 32 WCF which was a Starline case at 1.285 and the Lyman 3118 ( 115 grain) bullet seated and crimped into the upper crimp groove. 1.63 OAL not the max recommended of .1.592. It feed just fine. I’ll load 20 for the range and see if I can cycle 10 through the action to check accuracy and function.
My question is, is anyone else doing this with the Lyman 3118 and a win. 92? Thanks ahead of time.

Update, 1.63 is the OAL with the shorter cases. I am noticing late WW cases running 1.28 +/- .005.

Success, 1.63 OAL works in my 92 Win. rifle with Lyman’s 3118 crimped behind the last driving band or upper lube groove. 3.0 bullseye appears to be an accurate cowboy load and that long length works in my original bisley. This was with brass that measures1.275-1.285 which so far is all my WW and Starline brass. They are too long for my army special but will just barely clear my police positive special though.

The bullets and cases you mention work pretty well in my 92s but will not function in my 73s. I switched to the saeco #322 mold. This bullet has a shorter nose and functions well in both guns with either the long or short cases when crimped in the crimp groove.
