Bonjour,
Another question from wet and windy France.
Is it viable (safe) to cast ‘LEE 358 125gr RF’ boolits for my revolvers and then size some down to 356 for my 9mm?
I know someone who does this with the LEE 358 105gr SWC boolits.
I’m still waiting to cast my first boolits and hope to get started very soon. I’ve been busy getting my 290lb WW ingot stock ready, in-between doing DIY and work.

Merci mes Amies,

Sure, but you might want to slug the barrel on that 9 mm first. Lots of folks on here size .357/.358 for the 9's. Barrel dimensions tend to be generous and you want .001/.002 over groove diameter anyways. Make sure that they'll enter a fired case at that diameter and make sure that the combination will chamber. It's not that hard to do. Have fun..

Yes, it's safe. As Hornet said, check bore diameter. I size my 9mm boolits .357" and .358" depending on the gun (I own four 9mm's).

Before you load any up, make up some dummy rounds to be sure they feed and chamber well.

I use that boolit in both of my 9's sized to .357" & it shoots great out of both, a Beretta 92FS & a Springer XD9. I also know of another member of this fine board that's using it in his 9's.

I use it in my 38 Super. Works well and should be a fairly decent small game boolit.

I use that bullet in my Browning HP sized to .357 and it works very well. I have to seat it a little deeper than I would like to get it to chamber. It performs well in my Beretta 92 as well but also needs the deeper seating. OAL of 1.032.:-D

fusil - that is a good bullet, I shoot a lot of them in 38 Special. Never tried 9mm but will now.

Salut mon vieux, Sizing the Lee 358/125 for the 9mm will work well at .357 or .356;you should try both to see which groups better/best. Pas de danger. Use a slight taper crimp on your rounds (slight-not too much) so that the bullets don't get seated any deeper than they are supposed to be. 9MM is very pressure sensitive to even the slightest change in seating depth. Bonne chance et bon tir. LLS
