found a new unopened can at estate sale for $1.00 yesterday at estates sale - anyone have any experience using it on wood + metal ? -- can marked origianal , cleans, stains, + polishes -

good as anything else. wax is pretty much wax; regardless of what some claims are. one of the cheaper waxes that is as good as any is clear shoe polish.

I've used it a bunch when I was doing a lot of wood turning. Good woodworking wax. Smells better than Johnson paste, less volatiles.

thanks for the replies - i've used Johnsons + Butchers for years - i just thought it might have better qualities due to the extra expense - will open sealed can + try it this weekend -

I've supervised the use of many gallons of Briwax as an interior finish on real wood paneled walls in very high end homes. I much prefer it to any varnish or polyurethane as wear and scuffs are easily touched up. However I wouldn't recommend it outdoors.
