I start off by saying I've sold a few guns on Gunbroker over the years, as well as bought quite a few. I have a C&R FFL to make this easier. Handguns and long guns, from private sellers and FFL's. I was just working a offer on a local state wide forum with a fella, and when I mentioned him shipping me the handgun, he said it wasn't possible. I started googling, and it sure looks like he's right. Fedex, USPS, UPS, nobody will allow the shipping of handguns unless you are a '01 FFL dealer. When did this happen? Are there any solutions?

There's been a little bit of tinkering with it, but basically it goes back to 'Gun Control 1968'.
That's partly why in years past, 'Kitchen FFL' dealers were so common.
Until the Clinton years, a FFL cost #10. a year to keep.
And that got you back to what you could do prior to 1968 when you could mail order guns.

Not too terribly long ago, even ammunition AND components had to go between FFLs.

we've had a discussion about that here.

I just used shipmygun.com for a couple handguns. It's easy if the ffl is on their list.

If he isn't on their list you can get him added. Cost me $35 to ship a handgun from pa to California.

for a few dollars + postage many 01 holders will ship a handgun legally to another ffl via USPS priority mail -

I used an FFL. Does it 2-3 times a week. Knows the laws and rules, shipping drivers know him.
