I have a crimp die that says 9mm A4 on it
I have the crimp It is set about 1/8 in above bullet holder and the crimp is screwed in as far as it will go and it doesn't crimp tight.
Any ideas why?

Do you have the original instructions that came with the die set? That might help you out, cuz I'm not really understanding your description, it appears you are using the wrong terminology.

No original instructions
On the top of the die there is a knob that you use to adjust the crimp it is screwed down as far as it will go and does not crimp the shell to the bullet.

Greetings,

You describe the Lee Factory Carbide Crimp Die.

Remove the screw on top and check to see if the steel crimping sleeve is present inside the die.

The bottom of the die should have a Carbide insert.

Cheers,

Dave

The video deces posted should clear it all up. You don't have the die turned far enough into the press.

Nomes I mean no disrespect. You sound extremely new at reloading. Your terminology is way off and I for one am having a hard tiime understanding. If you could give a little more info it would be better for us to help you. Your title says Lee classic turret but the type of press has no bearing on die setup. Are these Lee dies? If so is this the Lee 4die 9mm set? Maybe a photo of the setup might help. I use that press and die setup. To put it bluntly I probably have loaded a couple 100,000 rounds of 9 mm on it. If your still having trouble after reading all the responses send me a pm! I’m sure I can walk you through what it is your actually trying to do.

Not new and I know how to set up the die It worked the last time I used it. I moved to a different state about 3 yrs ago and just dug it out and now it doesn't work. On the die it says 9mm A4 crimp die and I can't find that die to see what it is might just be that old.
I think I might just order a new (mm Carbide die.

I didn't go look at mine, but is the insert put into the die in the correct titration

I just took a look at mine and the insert - moving part that is inside - has the reduced diameter end down. Easy enough to get the insert reversed in a lot of these dies if you take them apart to clean and forget which end is down. If you have your's in correctly, then I'm baffled as to what the issue is. (I'm talking my Lee 9mm Factory Crimp Die)

I took the insert out of the die and set the die now it works.
It seemed that the insert was hanging up or something and would not adjust.
Yes I took it apart cleaned it and reset it in the plate, it still wouldn't adjust so I just left it out.
