Tonight I was loading some .357 , using up the last of my old stock of 2400.
Keeping a watchful eye on the old Reading set to throw 13.5, weighing every fifth charge. Still throwing 13.5 on the button right to the end.
It's all gone.
In goes the newer stock of 2400.
Charged 5 then weighed...... new stuff wighed in at 14.1.
I guess 2400 shrunk in the last few years.
Sure am glad I checked before I shot.

Anyone else ever notice anything like this?

Bottom line for me is CHECK EVERYTHING ALWAYS.

When I switched lots of Unique about a year ago, the volume to volume was a little heavier, however weight for weight after reworking the load back up was slower, in other words the volumetric measure was almost dead on by the chonograph, so I left the measure at the same setting after working it back up again.

I'm interested to crono these loads too.
Seems to me that if you reduce the volume, even though the weight stays the same, you should loose fps.
Less preasure.
Is my way of thinking right or am I just confused again?

I think it depends, probably, but you for safety sake might want to back down a might and work back up to the same volume and see. You know what they say about assuming:-D
