I built a storage shed.
One of those resin one's
I want to put a solar powered fan to suck out the hot air during the day.
Come on when the sun is out.
Small opening at the top of both ends, but I have a fan that might work.
12vdc
I'm guessing I'll need t look for a 12vdc solar panel, and maybe some kind of regulator.
What kind of panel should I look for????
Do I even need a regulator???
Trying to make one, just because.
On the cheap.
Seems like an interesting project.

They used to sell an all in one unit for ventilating boats. I’m not sure they have the volume you are looking for, but you can check.

get a solar powered attic fan at any big box store, I have one, works ok, about as good as a whirley bird vent. They do go out every few years

To use a small muffin fan a 5 watt solar panel will be plenty and can direct connect to the fan. Worst case if you burn up a fan add a small 12 volt 1 amp power supply, input to the regulator section is usually 18 volts, same as a solar panel.... The 1/2 amp trickle charge won't harm it....

I was thinking of two fans. One on each end of the shed.
One to suck cool air in, and the other to suck hot air out.
The opening is only 5" round, so not to big.
Looking at a brushless motor. The kind used in electronics.
They blow lots of air, and don't need much power.
What I don't know is how big a solar panel to try.
On utube I see people using panels as small as 10w, but they don't say how big the fan they're using.
I also want to try a solar light in the shed.
I see some on amazon that might work.
Want it to be a bright as possible.
Kind of interesting project.
As if a need another project.

I think a muffin fan, as suggested, as above, or two, will take care or your ventilation needs. Muffin fans are computer fans and run on either 12V or 120V. For solar you want the 12V ones. Here are a few:

You don't nees a storage battery if you only waant them to work when the sun is shining.

For a solar panel look here;

https://www.amazon.com/s?k=5+watt+solar+panel

For a light I'd use a separate garden light. They come with batteries and solaar panels.

We put a pair of the solar powered fans in our southern exposure greenhouse. They are about ineffective as you can get I tried blowin in, out and one in and one out and nothing made a difference. We’re looking into putting in a 110v dedicated fan to get consistently better ventilation.

I ordered a 25w solar panel.
Have a few auto rad fans, so be interesting to see how much air they will blow.
At the very least, I'll learn something about solar panels.

I would get 2 110 volt in line grow fans. Amazon has them. Just looked cheap one up, 200 cfm, 4 inch diameter (available from 4 to 6 to 8 inch diameters.) 28 watts so not much. Two would be what a normal 60 watt light bulb pulls. They are water resistant, so if storm blew water on it, it wouldn't hurt it. I've an 8 inch ducting out one of my lasers and it moves air pretty well. I'd get a battery and use the solar panel to charge the battery. Get a cheap inverter to go from the 12v back to 120v. $100 plus solar panels and whatever battery you use.

Got my solar panel today.
Was so excited to see how it would work with the auto fan I have.
Of course the gooberment made the clouds cover the sun, so fan didn't spin very fast.
Now the search for a brushless fan.
