In a couple other threads I saw some people had suppressors mounted on their carbines, now how cool is that?
I have an Auto-Ordinance newly manufactured M1 carbine and thought it would really be neat to mount a silencer to it.
I didn't want to pay someone to thread it and didn't want to try it myself, so I came up with the following solution, plus, I didn't want to change my rifle.

First a little disclaimer. The old do not try this at home thing.
This is a product from my Mad Scientist Laboratory, aka my basement.
Now down to the nitty gritty, if you do attempt this, keep very tight tolerances.
I will not post dimensions as they may be different for you rifle.
If you have the skill to make one, the pictures should give you all the information you need.

First, I would not use this method if I was planning on using a 30 caliber suppressor.
Since my suppressor is 46 caliber, I have a lot of room for a little error, it mounts up solid, but I wouldn't chance it.

Anyway, here it is.

Could probably mock up an adapter out of a M1 Carbine recoil check also.

You got me, what is a M1 Carbine "recoil check"?

A little more info.
The threaded part slides inside the outer part.
The screw locks it together, when it is snugged up it locks to the front sight.
The set screw only acts upon the inner part of the adaptor.
The outer part is actually a piece of thick-walled pipe, the threaded part is a chunk of .556 barrel cut close to the chamber.

A recoil check is basically a muzzle brake intended for M2 carbines to help control muzzle rise. They have a clamp with thumbscrew and are readily available online.

I must admit I’ve never seen one.

My .30 Carbine becomes a straight pull bolt action with light loads that are still supersonic.
Are you using your supressor just to lessen the report of standard ammo?

I haven't tried it yet, but obviously it will not reduce the supersonic crack, only the muzzle blast noise.
I am trying to adapt the suppressor to as many of my firearms as possible.
More bang, or should I say, less bang for my buck.
