Ordering Springs

Probably going to sound like an idiot here but need to order some springs for my H&R hadi rifle projects. Due to the hammer replacement I do to reduce the trigger weight I have to modify the stock springs but they wear our after a bit. Had a guy a while a go say he used a hardware store spring with the right leg angle but can't seem to find any locally. Problem is every one I've tried to order was wrong so hoping someone here might be able to help I know I need like a 160-180 on the legs but always seems to mess up the other measurements so if someone could point me in the right direction I'd really appreciate it

You could try making a spring. At Hobby stores they have roughly 3 foot lengths of “piano wire”. This already has spring temper in it. Wrap around a rod or bolt of the right diameter (a bit smaller than the correct diameter cause it expands a bit when the tension is released. Play with getting the right dimensions and angles, bending the spots you need w pliers. The wire should be $4-10 so a cheap thing to try. Enough material to do trial and error until you get it right. No fancy heating and tempering. But you can not usually re-bend the piece larger.

Don’t know if it’ll work for you but I once made a similar shaped spring out of a heavy duty safety pin.
