John - that is wonderful! You and your bride are 9 years ahead of my wife and I. Marriage is like a job . . . you work at it everyday and put your spouse ahead of yourself. Years of love, enjoyment, high points and low points scattered in along with sadness and grief at times - but you pull together, never lose your sense of humor or the ability to laugh. It's all about responsibility, commitment and devotion. Young'uns can learn a lot from folks like you and your wife.

Sixty years ago this morning we "tied the knot".

Congrats! My first was for 2 years, 3 months; with #2 just about the same tenure. THEN... #3 -- which will be (God willing) 48 years come December. For me, "three was the charm!"; you, indeed, were/are fortunate hitting the home run with #1!

My wife passed from cancer 2 1/2 months short of our 60th anniversary.
I would do it all over again.
We were VERY close.
