I have a Ruger #3 in 22 Hornet that shoot a lot.
What is the proper way to clean it without getting cleaning solvent down in the action?
Standard bore guides aren`t working for me.

Make a cradle and clean it upside down. keep the muzzle the lowest point.

What is this cleaning you speak of??? You mean we are supposed to actually clean our guns?
Just kidding, I always just held my single shots upside down when I was swabbing the bore; although the cradle does make sense if you have room for it.

A card board box can make a very useful cradle, Find center and lay out a vee on each end so that the muzzle is an inch or so lower than the action and cut them out lay a soft towel in them then the gun.
