I have a Krag that will not shoot cast consistantly.
Thoughts on rebarreling .
What twist would be recommended for a 175 gr to 185 gr. bullet?

First off.
What is your bore diameter and twist rate on the barrel you have right now.
And how many FPS are you shooting in that barrel right now.
Also,
What is the condition of the barrel you have that doesn't shoot well.

If it's an original Krag barrel it's more then likely a 10 twist because the krag first came out with a long heavy 220 grain bullet so it needed that twist to stabilize it. If you're not going to shoot long heavy bullets you could go with a slower twist like 12. I'm not for going to 14 or 16.

The PacNor 30-40 barrel on my 98 Springfield Krag is 1-10” twist. I can’t complain at all.

The standard twist in the US for a .308 barrel is a 1-10 twist, works for 125s through the 200s. It also works for cast with standard lands. The newer 5R and micro groove rifling prefers harder cast or jacketed bullets. Pretty much all of my .308 barrels are 1-10 twist with square lands, have few micros and 5Rs.

This is where I'd start.

For strictly cast bullet shooting I really like my 1:15" 30-06. It will go up to 180gr with good accuracy up to the pressure limits of the cartridge. 200s don't work though.

In my Krags I’ve been using 193 gr .311 gc hunters supply boolits. I do load them light. Pushing them too fast will ruin the accuracy. I would clean and slug your bore to see what’s what and go from there.
