Good afternoon to all you knowledgeable loaders,

You helped my friend out this morning with his .264 Win. problems, now it's my turn.
I have two .40 S&W handguns, a Glock and a CZ, both of which I load for. I just picked up a Kel-Tec P-40 in .40 S&W and my handloads only chamber halfway.
What is my problem, and how do I rectify it.

Thanks in advance,
Mike

Take the barrel out and see where your reloads hang up by “plunking” them into the chamber.
You may have to put more of a taper crimp on them or perhaps seat the bullet just a touch deeper.

I have a Smith and a Kahr in 40 S&W. The S&W takes 0.402" the Kahr will only chamber 0.401". I have gone to two different bullets to make sure ammo goes in the right gun.

I had a similar problem loading when I started loading for my .40 S&W M&P. When one uses range pick up brass (as I do), you can expect most of it shot from a Glock (unsupported chamber) and a normal resize die doesn’t eliminate the “bulge” in the brass created by the Glock barrel.
Get the Lee “Bulge Busting” die or shell out for a roll sizer. Either will fix your issue.
