I am in need of a clean used mould suitable for making a .443" bullet of my own design that is 1.46" long. I think such a mould would probably be 1 5/8" tall (not including the sprue plate).

If anyone has a used mould that would suffice, please let me know at brentd@iastate.edu.

Obviously, I'm looking for something not too expensive of course.

Is this a smooth paper patch design or grease groove design?

It will be a smooth sided paper patch bullet. I wonder if I can put up a drawing of it. I'll see what I can do.

Did you try the swappin-n-sellin forum? Somebody over there must have an old set of blocks they're willing to part with

Lets see if this works. Nope only a PDF image.

The weight will be 535.0 gr if cast of 16:1 alloy and 537.2 if cast of 20:1 alloy.

535.0 gr in 16:1 and 537.2 in 20:1 (more or less).

I will try the swap page but thought this might be getting more traffic.

I think the longer the rifle is, the longer the mold has to be.:kidding:

FWIW, that is about the height of a Lyman two cavity mold block.

................Lyman 2 cav blocks (or at least the one I picked up) is 1.485" tall
RCBS blocks are 1.5" tall
Saeco blocks are 1.5" Tall.

So it appears RCBS or Saeco blocks would work. Most likely Saeco as I don't think RCBS does a single cavity that could be bored out.

Kinda like these Brent?

Of couse since they're swaged they WILL either have a small flat on the nose from the ejector, or in this case, a HP. These are 533 grs slugs.

These are 560gr slugs.

Yup, sorta like those only a little different. I swage .45 bullets too. But dies are darn costly, take forever to get and are slower to produce match quality bullets. So, I thought I might try a mold this time.
