Is a pair of consecutively numbered (XX12 and XX13) SA-35s worth more than just two pistols?

Usually true of most good quality pistols.

I notice it’s very true for Colt SAA’s. Consecutively numbered Colt gun pairs carry a heavy premium. Rugers, a slight premium.

For Springfields in current production, consecutively numbered guns might be worth an extra $100. Of course asking that price automatically cuts out nearly all the market that’s looking to buy just one gun. Cowboy guns tend to be used in pairs (braces) more than other guns. So the urge to have matched, consecutively numbered guns is highest in that category.

I have a Browning Hi-Power and an early SA-35. The SA-35 has a very sloppy fit between the barrel and slide bushing where the Hi-Power is tight. The difference on target is noticeable in target shooting. But, the SA-35 holds its own in fast close (under 20 yards) defensive type shooting. It points good. The trigger on my SA-35 is way better than my Hi-Power with the magazine disconnect out. Also the sights are better.

I’ve seriously considered getting another SA-35 of later production to try for a better barrel to slide fit. For the money they are a good bargain in my book.
